*Use 75 g/about 135 yards of worsted weight yarn
*Use F or G hook to obtain gauge of 4 rows of 10 sc (worked in back loops only) = 2.25" wide and 1" tall -- if your tension tends to be looser, start with the F, and if tighter, start with a G.
*cl (short for cluster)= one sc then one dc in the same st
Row 1: Ch 11, working in back loops only, sc into 2nd ch from hook and across the row, ch1, turn (10 sc)
Row 2: Sc in back loop only of all 10 sc, ch 1, turn (10 sc)
Row 3-22: As row 2
Pair row 1 and row 22 (left and right side of the rectangle), working in back loops only, sl st each st together
(Note, for ease of counting it is helpful at this point to mark the ch 1 with a stitch marker)
Round 1 -- Ch 1, sc evenly around (22 sc). Sl st to ch 1, do not turn.
Round 2 - Ch1, 1 dc in same st as ch1, *sk 1 st, cl in next* around until last 2 sts. Of last 2 sts, sk 1 st and sc in last st. Sl st to ch1 (22 st), do not turn.
Round 3, 4, 5 - as round 2
Note: at this point, is helpful to mark the first sc of each round with a stitch marker. The ch 1 from this point on does not count as a sc, it simply keeps the seam straight.
Round 6 - Ch 1, sc in same st as ch1, 1sc in each of next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, *1 sc in each of next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st* 3 times to last 2 sts, 1 sc in each of last 2 st, sl st to 1st sc (26 sc)
Round 7 - right hand: Ch 1, sc in same st as ch1, sc in each of next 15 sts, ch 5, sk 5 st, sc in rem sts, sl st to first sc (26 sc)
Round 8 - right hand - Ch 1, sc in same st as ch 1, sc in each of next 15 sts, sc 5 in ch 5 sp, sc in rem, sl st to first sc (26 sc)
Round 7 - left hand: Ch 1, sc in same st as ch1, sc in each of next 5 sts, ch 5, sk 5 sts, sc in rem, sl st to first sc (26 sc)
Round 8 - left hand: Ch 1, sc in same st as ch1, sc in each of next 5 sts, sc 5 in ch 5 sp, sc in rem, sl st to first sc (26 sc)
Round 9 - Ch 1, sc in same st as ch 1, sc all around (26 sc), sl st to 1st sc
Rounds 10 and 11 - as round 9
Round 12 - Ch 1, sc in next st after ch 1, *skip 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, skip 2 sts, sc in next st* 4 times, sc in last st, sl st to ch 1
Edge around bottom of glove: attach yarn at seam of glove, ch 1, sc evenly (but not too tightly) around (22 sc), sl st to ch 1, fasten off.
