As promised, here is part two of the Sea Foam (Midnight edition haha) Fingerless Gloves pattern, which covers a size large/extra large glove size:
Size Large/Extra Large Sea Foam Fingerless Gloves
This pattern calls for approximately 125 yards of aran or worsted weight yarn.
Use an F or G hook to be obtain gauge of 4 rows of 10 sc (worked in back loops only) = 2.5" wide by 1.25" tall - if your tension tends to be tighter, start with a G, and if looser, start with an F.
***Cl = cluster = sc then dc in same st
Row 1: Ch 11, working in back loops only, sc into 2nd ch from hook and across the row, ch1, turn (10 sc)
Row 2: Sc in back loops only of all 10 sc, ch 1, turn (10 sc)
Row 3-24: As row 2
*Pair row 1 and row 24 (left and right side of the rectangle), working in back loops only, sl st each st together
(Note, for ease of counting it is helpful at this point to mark the ch 1 with a stitch marker)
Round 1 -- Ch 1, sc evenly around (24 sc). Sl st to ch 1, do not turn.
Round 2 - Ch1, 1 dc in same st as ch1, *sk 1 st, cl in next* around until last 2 sts. Of last 2 sts, sk 1 st and sc in last st. Sl st to ch1 (24 st), do not turn.
Round 3, 4, 5 - as round 2
Note: at this point, is helpful to mark the first sc of each round with a stitch marker. The ch 1 from this point on does not count as a sc, it simply keeps the seam straight.
Round 6 - Ch 1, sc in same st as ch 1, 1 sc in next st, *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts* until last 2 sts, 1 sc in each of last 2 sts, sl st to 1st sc
Round 7 - right AND left hands: Ch 1, sc in same st as ch1, sc in next 14, ch 6, sk 6 st, sc in rem sts, sl st to first sc (32 sts)
Round 8: ch 1, sc in same sp as ch 1, sc in each of next 14 sts, sc 6 in ch 6 sp, sc in rem sts, sl st to first sc (32 sts)
Round 9: Ch 1, sc in same sp as ch 1, sc all around, sl st to first sc (32 sc)
Round 10 and 11 -- as round 9 (32 sc)
Round 12 - Ch 1, sc in next st after ch 1, *skip 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, skip 2 sts, sc in next st* 5 times, sc in last st, sl st to ch 1 (32 sts)
Edge around bottom of glove: attach yarn on seam side of glove, ch 1, sc evenly (but not too tightly) around (24 sc), sl st to ch 1, fasten off. Tuck in ends on wrong side of glove.
