Once version 3 is all squared away and finalized, I'll be posting the pattern on Ravelry, or here on the blog and on Ravelry. I haven't as of yet decided which, but you can find me on Ravelry as tangledinyarnover. I will keep you posted on what happens on that front. I really like the fit of this hat, and the symmetry of the brim. It's quite snug, which is excellent, as many yarns tend to stretch. That's something I discovered the hard way with the first hat I made. It began as a loose fit, and eventually turned into a comfortable, albeit unfashionable, bowling ball cover LOL! | I finished this hat today. It looks rather unisex, which I think could be a good thing! I've decided it shall be my new every day fall hat. It was made off a pattern I had tinkered with earlier in the year, but edits were made, and this is now version 2 of that pattern. Version 3 is coming next. This particular pictured hat pattern has a visible, albeit neat, seam down the back of the hat, and there is no need for it. So version 3 is going to eliminate that eyesore. : ) |
I never checked my gauge with that first hat. Very, very important! Take note! : ) In fact, if you're a beginning crochet artist, check out my article on gauge right here.
But, even though looking upon the "hat" *cough cough bowling ball cover* absolutely horrifies the perfectionist in me, it also reminds me that we all have to start somewhere. That was my start, and I'm proud of the progress I've made along the way. At the very beginning, I went from "Why the hell do I keep dropping stitches on every row of dc?!" to dabbling in pattern design.
Stay tuned! I shall be posting the pattern no later than Friday! Until then, happy hooking! : )
